May-Wa in Alamosa

The service was good. Interior was dated, though serviceable. The food was average at best. The low mein noodles I had were oddly thin. Portions were good. Overall average, not great, not bad, and probably not something I would go out of my way to have again.

My family and I have been coming for years and we still enjoy it. We especially love the lunch specials because of the great prices. Their egg drop soup is oh-so delicious!

This place is really good. I don't think the Jampong is gluten free. It looks like ramen. It's good tho. Very filling. For some reason most items seem very Americanized like their head chef is a microwave. Not that it's bad food but that's just my suspicion.

The very BEST Vietnamese and Chinese EVER! We travel 4 hours as often as possible to eat here..If you like a little spice to your food, the Jampong is like nothing else! It has the most distinctive and wonderful taste ever....go there, you won't be disappointed!!

I gave this place three stars just for personal taste.. It's clean, not too busy, has a nice selection. People seem to love it. I just prefer some menu items they don't have.

Restaurant was packed on a Saturday night with the regular crowd and homecoming - but the service was top notch. We were seated very promptly. The waitress apologized for the delay, but honestly, I did not feel like there was one. The food came out quick! Great hot and sour soup and great egg flower soup. The crab cheese wontons were savory and fresh. The kung pao chicken my wife and I split was plenty for two and the prices are incredibly reasonable. Small town American-Chinese restaurants are the best - and this one is phenomenal example. Go here and don't look back!

Good Chinese food in Alamosa downtownCan you get decent Chinese food in a relatively small town like Alamosa? The answer is YES. We are Chinese so I was really expecting Americanized Chinese food and nothing more. I was presently surprised. The portions are generous. The tofu clay pot was very good. This dish is usually found in authentic Chinese restaurants. I was skeptical how good it would be but decided to try it. It was almost as good as what you'd find in NY Chinatown. This is a family run restaurant and it's been around for more than 10 years. The staff is very friendly. The prices are reasonable. A nice surprise.

The best Chinese/Vietnamese style food in the area. Everything is very good, in particular their Jampong is highly recommended.

Have been going here for the past 3 years. Wanted to see how the place grew over the years before I rated it. And this is still an amazing place, and has been holding strong. Today, I had dinner here with my family and it was wonderful. 10/10 would recommend.

During my recent stay in Alamosa with my sister, I ordered some items for take-out and I was NOT disappointed! The beef skewers, seafood soup, and cashew chicken were piping hot and excellent! My sister loved the egg drop soup and eggrolls she had. The portions were HUGE and leftovers are easy to be had here! These folks are the best Asian in Alamosa and I've been to this town a few times!The only thing I would ask is that they post their Vietnamese menu on their website. Maybe I was blind, but I could not find it. I would have loved to get take-out on those too!May-Wa will NEVER be a 'maybe' in my book when I'm in town! :)

Great,consistent food that will fill up the most hungry of Bears. Lunch hour is a rush. But worth the wait.

Friendly service. Food was pretty good considering the location (rural Colorado chinese VS. Chinese food in NYC for example). Lunch prices are quite good for what you get.

I usually only get one thing here. The Vietnamese bowls. I love the chicken here. My last visit I had a ride plate instead. Or was just like the bowls but with fried rice instead of rice noodles. It was a lot of food and I enjoyed every bite. Except when it was time to relax, I was too full.

My favorite Chinese restaurant of all time. the food is very good quality for an great price. I've never ordered something here and been let down. If you are vegetarian, I recommend the Buddhas Delight. It is fantastic!!

This place used to rock, it was in my top 3 of places to eat at in the valley. I came back home after a few years of being away and had to try my favorite spot. I was let down and scared of the way my sesame chicken came out. Food was dry and the rice was stale as heck. Heard the OGs bounced outta town, miss the old May-wa baby.

I have no complaints. I thought the food was above average, reasonably priced and good service. We even snagged parking for our rig (we live in our travel trailer) right outside their door.

This is the best Chinese restaurant I've ever been to. This ever since I discovered it I go out of my way to eat stop by on my trips. Recently took stopped here for a day just to eat some. Then a week later made time to drive out of my way before going back to my home state. Amazing food. Even got friends of mine to come get food here if they're heading this way.

Most of the time it's a great place to eat with a wide variety of food that is cooked wonderfully. I say most time because there are some servers that are non attentive to their customers and several times while having dinner there workers began to vacuum and clean right next to us.

Food is always good! The staff is great and polite. If my food isn't right they fix it right away and very fast! Location is just a little lard because of the lack of parking spaces and usually their parking lot is filled with other cars that aren't even eating there. Other than that it's wonderful!!

It's really cheap for lunch, but the quality is not especially great.

Different than the traditional style Chinese food. Just because it's different doesn't mean it wasn't good. Egg Foo young was excellent! Pan fried dumplings were so good I could eat them every day. If you're in the area and are looking for some good food, this is absolutely the place.

Were there well over a hour nobody noticed we didnt get our food. Asked 2 wait staff then left just paid for soup and egg rolls. That's the reason for a 2 and not a one. What happened to this place?

Reasonable price. Will revisit when I'm back in town. Food was served very quickly. Schezwan beef had a great flavor, not too spicy; just right. The egg rolls were good too. A hint of onion. Mmm overall delicious. 👍 Thanks Jo!

The food was just...not good. They must smoke in the kitchen or something because one of my smelled like an ashtray right as I opened it, and didn't taste much better. Nothing about my chicken and broccoli entree, fried rice or wonton soup was very appealing. The best part of my meal was the eggrolls and only because they didn't remind me of ash and actually had a decent flavor. I'm very disappointed the only Chinese place in this town isn't very good. Guess I'll stick to Japanese at Hunan.

Always good service, and everything is delicious. Waitresses are nice and welcoming. As a family friendly place.

For your own safety, please, DO NOT EAT HERE! Worst Chinese food in the world. No questions asked. The only thing they cook right is the steamed rice. These people need to change the business they're in for sure and do something they actually enjoy doing.
